Harry Rountree was born in New Zealand and
came to England in 1901, finally settling in West London. He became
one of the foremost illustrators of his time with one of his best
works being the illustrations of Alice in Wonderland. Other works
include Aesop’s Fables and numerous other books by authors
including H.G Wells and Enid Blyton. His 64 colour plates, together
with Bernard Darwin’s text in Golf Courses of the British
Isles are regarded as a classic.
Harry Rountree was a member of West Middlesex
Golf Club and became Captain in 1919. His caricatures of the members
of the early 1900s are much admired by visitors and current members
alike. |
The set of four unframed A3 prints, measuring
16.5 x 11.75 inches actual size is offered as a limited edition of
200. Each is a lithograph print from the original, using light fast
inks on 200 gsm fine art silk paper. Each set comes with a numbered
